We exist to help people move from where they are to where God wants them to be.

We want to be a people who care for, welcome, and support those around us in a way that can only be inspired by God. It's our hope that people who visit our church or interact with our people walk away feeling encouraged, refreshed, and drawn closer to God. We want every man, woman, and child in our community to have the chance to experience and respond to the Gospel in action through our church.

Reverend Paul ANthony Dean

Reverend Paul A. Dean is the Senior Pastor and founder of Visions of God Family Worship Church located in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Born and raised by God-fearing parents, Reverend Charles D. Dean, Sr. and Shirley Drakeford Dean on September 29, 1967 in the Bronx, New York. Reverend Dean accepted Jesus Christ at the young age of 12. He later embraced his calling at the age of 15 with an anointed heart and delivered his inaugural message, "Hold On", at Community Apostolic Church located in Mount Vernon, New York. Led by the Word of God, Reverend Dean takes every opportunity to minister to those who call upon him and those seeking spiritual clarity. He has humbly helped people from several diverse backgrounds by bringing them into the Body of Christ and guiding them on the path to righteousness.

Reverend Dean started his Christian Education in 1987 at the Christian Bible College of New York located in Manhattan, New York. His ministerial training was obtained from Telion Bible Institute in Brooklyn, New York and Pillars of Fire, Somerset, New Jersey. He furthered his training abroad in Israel and London. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and is currently acquiring his Masters at Nyack Seminary in New York.

In 1998, the Lord elevated Reverend Dean to begin shepherding and sharing the powerful, practical, and transformational Word of God with his founding church, Visions of God Family Worship Church. Continuing his work for God Reverend Dean was blessed with a vision to reach those who were plagued by mental abuse, suffering loneliness, and drowning in depression, which led to the founding of Healing Hurting Hearts Ministries. Through this ministry, Reverend Dean mentored, prayed and assisted individuals dealing with the above illnesses to believe in themselves and continued to have faith while rebuilding life mentally.

In 2013, God blessed Reverend Dean with another vision, and he became the Founder and CEO of K.IS.S. GOD - Kingdom International Singles Seminar, a ministry designed to cultivate confidence to single men and single women through intimacy with God. Through this ministry, Reverend Dean taught the word of God to reach and successfully transform hundreds of single people every week.

In 2014, Reverend Dean's love for children also led to the founding of Vision's Early Childhood Learning Center, which gives parents and caregivers access to state-of- the-art childcare while providing an early educational foundation for its youth.

Also in 2014, continuing on this innovative path Reverend Dean grew Visions Community Development Corporation as the Founder and President which serves as a non-profit organization which addresses the need for educational, personal, and cultural enrichment in Somerset, Union, and Essex counties. In addition to his pastoral service, he further remains committed to supporting the community by also serving as the Human Relations Commissioner to the City of Plainfield, NJ. As the Human Relations Commissioner, he teams with the Mayor of Plainfield and its residents against discrimination and fighting for equitable opportunities for the community. Reverend Dean also currently serves as a Police Chaplain in the city of Plainfield, NJ.

In 2021 Reverend Dean married the love of his life and his best friend, Dr. Kimberly Simmons Dean and blended their families as loving parents of Darion JaVon, Daniel, Adrian, Torri, DeAundrey, Caitlin and Malin.

Dr. Kimberly Simmons Dean

First Lady

Dr. Kimberly Simmons Dean is the esteemed First Lady of Visions of God Family Worship Church located in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Born in Pollocksville, North Carolina, Dr. Dean was raised by loving parents, Mr. John L Simmons and Mrs. Evelyn Skinner Simmons in a God-fearing household. From a young age, she accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior and has continued to grow in her faith. Her father served as the Head of the Deacons Board, and her mother was a Mother of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, located in Pollocksville, North Carolina. Dr Dean's parents instilled in her a deep-rooted spirituality and dedication to the Word of God. Dr Dean has worked in several positions in the church such as serving on the Usher Board, singing in the Choir and serving as a Sunday School Instructor. 

In December of 1997, Dr. Dean graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration. In April 1998, she made the brave decision to enlist in the United States Army. She pursued further education, earning a Master of Science in Educational Administration and Supervision, in 2005, respectively, from the prestigious Cambridge and in 2018 she earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University. Her military career began as an Administrative Specialist at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and in March 2003 she became a Commissioned Officer in the Army Medical Corps. Over the years, she has held numerous significant positions, including Executive Officer for the 333rd Medical Detachment, Commander of the 429th Medical Evacuation Company, Personnel Officer for the 3274th U.S. Army Hospital, and Assistant Personnel Officer for the 2290th U.S. Army Hospital. She has also served as Acting Division Surgeon for the 94th Training Command, MSI Instructor and Recruiting Operations Officer at Virginia State Army Reserve Officer Training Command, Action Planner with the Warrior Transition Command, Human Resource & Administrative Officer for the 7245th Medical Support Unit, and Army Medical Command Protocol Officer. In 2014, Dr. (Major) Dean made history by becoming the first Detachment Commander for the Army Surgeon General (3-Star Command), commanded by Lieutenant General (Ret) Patricia D. Horoho, the 43rd Surgeon General. Her final assignment before her retirement in July of 2023 was the Officer-In-Charge of the Orlando Medical Recruiting Station in Orlando, Florida.

In a heartfelt ceremony in July 2021, she united in matrimony with the love of her life, Reverend Paul Anthony Dean. This union brought together their two families under God, and Dr. and Reverend Dean now share their love and guidance with their seven children: Adrian, Torri, DeAundrey, Caitlin, Malin, Daniel, and Darion Ja' Von.

Dr. Dean's hobbies and interests include supporting her husband in his ministry, mentoring youth in their spiritual and educational journeys, and cherishing time with her family.

Dr Dean is also currently pursuing a second Masters Degree which is in Divinity with a concentration in Educational Ministry.  

This short bio captures only a glimpse of 1st Lady Kimberly. She is a dedicated agent of change, committed to using her experience and education to promote equity and equality within her community and beyond.

Reverend Paul Anthony Dean, one of the most phenomenal speaking motivators, teaches his vision of growth and knowledge to educate others in all aspects spiritually and mentally. His goal is to lead souls to salvation as well as raising people of power to build a great church to fulfill the great commission. Using this approach Reverend Paul Dean attracts people from all socioeconomic backgrounds, races, nationalities, and creeds. Community outreaches, digital media, and youth activities as well as other sources, have been instrumental in assisting Reverend Dean to meet the needs of countless struggling individuals

The Beginning

The unrelenting work of Reverend Paul A. Dean began in January of 1998 in Springfield, NJ, starting the ministry with only eleven dedicated members the ministry quickly grew in a short period of time. On February 22, 1998, Reverend Dean stepped out on faith, and Visions of God Family Worship Church was born. The Holiday Inn became the new location of a life-changing ministry that had grown to 50 members. These members created a spiritually empowering environment that changed the hotel's atmosphere through prayer, praise and the Word of God.

In 1999, Reverend Dean once again received favor from the Lord with the promise of a new church home. Evangel Baptist Church in Springfield, NJ embraced the Visions of God family with open arms. In September 2005, Visions of God Family Worship Church transitioned to a new home at Ministerio Puerto de Paz in Elizabeth, NJ. The Lord continued to bless and add to the church but Elizabeth was meant to be a brief stop as the church went from "Owing to Owning".

In August 2007, God provided 350 Leland Avenue in Plainfield, NJ. Being blessed with a "community church", Reverend Dean grew to be of service to the residents of Plainfield and the church continued to grow. The church hosted several events in order to engage the people of Plainfield. "Our Brother's Keeper", was a program that was established to distribute free food and be a blessing to the community on a weekly basis.

The hallmark of Reverend Paul Dean's ministry is his compelling love for healing hurting hearts; With tireless commitment and support of the church leadership, VOG continues to trust God to build not only spiritually, but in every area of life, enabling the needs of the congregation, as well as the community, to be met.

A devoted Husband and Father

Reverend Dean devotes his life to his love for his family. His dedication to his wife is to bring peace and continue to elevate her to her purpose while providing everlasting love. As a loving father he advises as well as being a supportive spiritual leader to his children. His house is full of faith and daily prayer in the word of God.
